The core of our awareness campaign surrounds the use of Overland Travel as the “vehicle” to share our message. I chose this particular method for a few reasons. Awareness: Due to the nature of travel, we will be able to cover many different areas exposing the campaign to multiple different geographic areas and media markets. Experience: As avid overland enthusiasts, we are well adversed in the mechanics and driving experience necessary to safely navigate the trickiest of off-road scenarios. Business: Overland Travel as an industry is one of the fastest growing segments in the vehicle based hobbies and there is a nice synergy amongst emerging groups. Perspective: Camping, off-roading, nature submersion, scenic beauty... all great back drops for telling a compelling story within a documentary. The overall project now consists of THREE main Phases and several short regional trips. These are my short and midterm goals. Phase I will be a Continental Divide expedition starting in Antelope Wells, NM and ending in Banff, Canada. This will be a self contained route consisting of near 95% off-road terrain. Route is laid out and ready to go. Phase II will be a trans-continental expedition stretching from the East to West coasts through America’s Heartland with most of that route being off-road. The route is already laid out via GPS coordinate turns. Phase III will be a trans-Canada expedition exploring both popular cultural urban areas and stunning remote wilderness - the best our great northern neighbors have to offer. This route is currently be developed with the help of an awesome exploration group from Canada. ALD knows no borders. Therefore, it is a long term goal that Expedition-Awareness will not be limited by borders. Our hope is to take the awareness campaign to more geographical remote areas as the project unfolds. This doesn’t end until ALD does.
